Overview

5754 is a non‑heat‑treatable Al‑Mg anti‑rust aluminum alloy of the 5xxx series, with magnesium content ranging from 2.6% to 3.6%. Its strength comes from magnesium solid solution strengthening and cold work hardening. It delivers higher mechanical performance than 5052 alloy while retaining excellent ductility and corrosion resistance. As a medium‑strength corrosion‑resistant aluminum material, it is widely used in automotive manufacturing, shipbuilding, pressure vessels, architectural decoration and other industrial sectors.

Specification

  Alloy: 5754

  Temper: H111, H114, H22, H24, H26, H32, H34, etc

  Thickness: 0.2-250mm

  Width: 900-3800mm

  Length: Customized

Feature

Balanced medium strength: Higher mechanical strength than 5052 alloy with good ductility, bearing moderate structural loads while supporting cold forming processes such as bending and stamping.
Excellent corrosion resistance: Magnesium solid solution strengthens the matrix and forms a stable passive oxide film, delivering good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, salt spray and seawater erosion, suitable for outdoor and marine service environments.
Reliable weldability: Compatible with MIG, TIG and other mainstream welding processes, with high weld joint strength retention and good sealing performance, suitable for tank and hull splicing.
Outstanding formability: O temper features excellent plasticity for deep drawing and stretch forming; hardened tempers balance rigidity and formability, adapting to the processing of complex structural parts.

Significant lightweight advantage: Density is only about 1/3 of steel, effectively reducing the dead weight of equipment and vehicles, improving energy efficiency and load capacity.

Application

5754 aluminum sheets are widely used in the automotive industry for body panels, doors, hoods, and other components. In the marine sector, they are applied to hull side plates, deck panels, and cabin bulkheads. They also serve for manufacturing pressure vessels, storage tanks, architectural curtain wall panels, roofs, and interior decorative applications.
